Henderson Municipal Gas is in the early design stages of a gas main replacement project north of downtown. Specific project areas include the 500 & 600 blocks of N. Main Street, the 500 thru 800 blocks of N. Elm Street, the 200 block of 7th, and the 300 blocks of 8th & 9th Streets. We have called in design locates in this area so our engineering firm can survey the locations of existing utilities in the field. Surveyors or other personnel from Project Associates and/or Precision Surveying will be in the area to collect the data over the next couple weeks. HMG is hiring for a Gas System Equipment Operator.

The City of Henderson, KY is hiring for a Gas System Equipment Operator.

Hourly Pay: $20.54 + Benefits

Key Responsibilities:

- Operate equipment and perform semi-skilled/manual work functions related to the gas department
- Assist with equipment maintenance and repairs
- Ensure safety and efficiency while performing duties

Minimum Qualifications:

- High school diploma or GED (vocational/technical training in equipment operation a plus)
- 12 months of previous experience or training in equipment operation or maintenance
- Must qualify for Operator Qualification certification and maintain certification in National Fuel Gas Codes
- Must have or be able to obtain a valid Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) within 3 months of hire

Rest In Peace, Joseph Padilla. Joe was a longtime employee of the City of Henderson in the Street Department and the Gas Department. He will be missed.

All City offices are closed tomorrow but HMG will be open 8 to 4 with essential personnel to address any natural gas issues.

Tomorrow, January 6th, 2025 all City offices (including HART service) will be closed with the exception of essential services.

We are thankful for our essential team members who are working to keep us all safe during the winter weather.
