🎥 The Victory Theatre opened on July 22, 1943 and was the first of its kind at BMI townsite (pictures 1 & 2). Residents could beat the heat during the summer months with its air conditioning unit- photographed by the McNeil Construction Co. of Las Vegas (picture 3). The theatre was located on the corner Army St. and Panama St. until it was demolished in 1989. The site is now the Emerald Isle Casino's back parking lot (picture 4).

The "Basic Bombardier" released its 45th publication on May 21, 1943. This newsletter was published twice a month by Basic Magnesium, Inc. and included a variety of reportings about the company, employees and their families, the ongoing WWII war effort, and events around Townsite, which would later become Henderson. In this edition, stories described the completion of BMI's refractory (page 1), plans for a new employee cafeteria(page 2), and membership recruitment for a women's pilot organization called the "Alamo Aces"(page 3). Take a look!

We extend our sincere gratitude to all who purchased tickets and attended. The event was truly wonderful, and we would like to express our special thanks to Marianne Miller and Lindsey Wurzer You both are exceptional. The historical insights you provided were fascinating. Lynn, we appreciate you opening your family home, which your parents built, to our guests.
