Today was beautiful and I’m so proud of the effort they are putting into completing worksheets, reading books, and making overall better choices!

What a wonderful day in the neighborhood! Another week completed of our Park & Play Afterschool at Vance County Housing Authority!

Today we did a group read aloud and the book was about proper hygiene and wellbeing. The kids enjoyed a snack while listening to Coach Jessica read.

Our guest speaker this week was Ms Shaunte from Granville Vance Public Health! She spoke to the group about trauma informed situations, hygiene, and self care. Each student received a personal hygiene bag.

Another great week of learning, growing, and playing together with neighbors! Homework is getting done, meals are being served, and we are truly grateful for the opportunity to host this program onsite in Lincoln Heights.

We visited every vendor and received tons of goodies. Some jumped in the bounce house, some danced, while others played in the grass! Shoutout to Frankie Nobles for making sure everyone had hotdogs and chips! Grateful for every opportunity to share new experiences with this group! 🙏🏽♥️🙌🏽

Park & Play Afterschool was hot! 🥵 Almost felt like summer outside today!

This week we are focusing on Mental Health! Our exit ticket today was a Check-In worksheet! It really helped us get a sense of what the kids are thinking about, dealing with, and looking forward to. It was definitely eye opening.

Dinner was chicken and rice casserole with broccoli and fruit cup. Snack was a banana and pretzels!
