📣 ATTENDANCE MATTERS AT NORTH MIDDLE SCHOOL! 📣

Cadet families, we are excited to ELEVATE attendance this school year with something new! Each month, our Cadets will have a different Attendance Challenge with opportunities to earn celebrations, treats, prizes, parties, free dress passes, and even a FIELD TRIP! 🎉

Why? Because showing up matters! Regular attendance helps our students stay connected, keep up academically, build relationships, and take advantage of everything North Middle School has to offer.

👀 Check out the flyer to see what we have planned throughout the year! From POP-Up Parties and Attendance Madness to donuts, hot chocolate, movies, sweet treats, and more- there is something new to work toward every month!

🤫 And don't get too comfortable... throughout the year, we will also have SURPRISE ATTENDANCE DAYS! Students may walk into school one morning and discover that simply being PRESENT that day qualifies them for special prizes, treats, activities, Minga Points, or other surprises! Students AND staff will never know when they're coming!

🍦🎉 ATTENDANCE PAYS OFF AT NORTH! 🎉🍦

Today we celebrated our August Attendance Challenge! Every Cadet who had PERFECT ATTENDANCE for the entire month of August received a FREE ice cream with their lunch today! We had over 300 students receive this reward!🍦👏

Perfect Attendance means, the student was present at school each minute of every school day in August.

We are so proud of our students who showed up each day, ready to learn and ready to ELEVATE! ❤️🩶

But we aren’t stopping there… 👀

📣 SEPTEMBER’S ATTENDANCE CHALLENGE STARTS TOMORROW!

Throughout the month of September, every time a 7th period class has PERFECT ATTENDANCE, that class will earn an entry into our POP-UP PARTY drawing! 🎉

We will hold TWO surprise drawings during the month, and each time, THREE 7th period classrooms will be selected to WIN!

🥤 Soda POP for every student
🍭 Blow-POPs for every student
🎉 Delivered right to their classroom for a surprise POP-UP Party!

The more days a class has perfect attendance, the more chances they have to WIN! 🙌

We’re excited to share that NMS is now using Minga, a digital student engagement and communication platform designed to help schools, students, and families stay connected and informed. 💙
So, what is Minga?
Minga helps us better support students by bringing important information about student engagement, school expectations, activities, and communication** into one place. It gives our school a more consistent way to communicate with students and families while helping students stay connected to our school community.

📱What does this mean for families?

As we begin using Minga, families can expect:

✅ Weekly student summaries— You’ll receive regular updates with information about your student’s engagement and school-related information.

📩 Automated communication— Minga will help keep you informed through text messages and email when communication or updates are needed.

🤝 Better communication between school and home— Our goal is to make it easier for families to stay informed and involved in their student’s school experience.

We know that strong communication between school and home makes a difference. Minga will be another tool we use to keep families connected and ensure everyone has the information they need to support our students.
