Shackle Island was dispatched to a vehicle fire in the Retreat at Norman Farm development. On arrival crews from Shackle Island and Number One Fire Department found a large commercial excavator well involved.

Crews were able to quickly knock down the fire and gain access to the individual compartments to fully extinguish the fire.

High temperatures, remote location, steep grade, and access to the equipment made for a challenging fire. Thank you to our partners at Number One Fire Department for your help today!

It's not often you see CEMC linemen working from a boat. But, sometimes drastic measures have to be taken to restore power for our members.

Pictured are Gallatin district lineman John Vander Wielen and serviceman Josh Kennedy working to restore power off Saundersville Rd in Hendersonville this morning.

Blessed with perfect weather for training today in Goodlettsville! City of Goodlettsville Fire Department is hosting Tennessee Fire and Codes Academy this week to wrap up their 80 hour Pumper Driver Operator course. This course is essential for firefighters and provides them the skills and knowledge necessary to safely and effectively flow water in a variety of situations and environments.

Thank you GFD for partnering with us and White House Community Volunteer Fire Dept.! We’re always happy to help our neighbors.

Today firefighters from Goodlettsville and Hendersonville Fire Department (TN) focused on establishing a water supply in the rural environment and supplying an attack engine. Tanker 11 and Tanker 51 along with engines from Goodlettsville and TFACA were utilized to demonstrate the use of portable tanks, fill and supply site selection and operations, jet siphons, and drafting techniques in an effort to sustain an uninterrupted supply of water.

For many departments in our area this task is accomplished by tanker shuttles - physically moving water by truck from a remote area to the supply engine that can then send pressurized water to the attack engine for extinguishment.
