Why does The Partnership focus on manufacturing companies?

As we like to say, "because manufacturing pays the bills."

Manufacturing accounts for about 30% of the tax revenue generated in Henderson County. This means revenue to pay for vital services like fire, police, and infrastructure. But manufacturing does more than just invest in our community through capital dollars, it also invests through jobs.

Cummins - Meritor is one of Henderson County's oldest businesses and employs more than 400 local residents. Since opening its doors in 1982, it established itself as an integral part of the local economy by providing high-quality, high-paying careers to Henderson County citizens. Today, Cummins - Meritor announced plans to continue this 40-year legacy with the addition of 40 new jobs and $41M in capital investment.

Earlier this week, the Economic Investment Fund of Henderson County (HCPED's sister organization) was named as a 2022 grant recipient in the Charitable Giving Program from Horizon Heating & Air! We're so honored EIF was chosen and just wanted to take a moment to show our appreciation! In 1995, Gerald Rinehart was a local welder who began welding exhaust collectors for NASCAR legend, Dave Marcis, and later for Richard Childress.
