WNCSource is in Washington, DC! This week CEO David White represented WNCSource Head Start, Early Head Start, and NC PreK and our region's early childhood education needs at the National Head Start Association round table discussion with leaders from the Administration for Children and Families (ACF). The conversation created an opportunity for Head Start leaders to hear the top priorities and approach from ACF leadership and share their experiences, challenges and ideas directly with federal leaders. Strong policy begins with strong partnerships, where decisions are informed by the realities that programs and families experience every day.

We had a beautiful day a couple of weeks ago for the WNCSource & WNCSource Head Start, Early Head Start, and NC PreK employee appreciation brunch! We enjoyed delicious food from Trailside Brewing, sweet treats from Whit's Frozen Custard of Hendersonville NC, and jammed out with our CEO, David White's band, the East Flat Rockers. It was a great time getting the whole organization together to celebrate and enjoy time together.

Our sincere thanks to Lake Toxaway Charities and their generous support of our work with Transylvania County seniors. Thanks to a $15,000 grant from this longtime partner and friend, WNCSource will be able to connect our homebound seniors and congregate meal participants with community services and resources that will support their ability to remain independent and safely age in place with dignity.
