Congratulations to the graduates of the 2025-2026 Vision Henderson County Class, especially WNCSource's very own Megan Pierce! Vision Henderson County is a 10-month leadership development program put on by Blue Ridge Community College and the Henderson County Chamber of Commerce, NC. We couldn't be more proud of Megan, her hard work, and the impact our staff has on our local community.

May is Older Americans Month, and we’re celebrating the incredible older adults who help make our communities stronger every day.

One of those individuals is Transylvania County resident Hal Kelton, who will celebrate his 100th birthday this year! Last month, we got to interview Hal as he prepared to participate in the Land of Waterfalls Senior Games and SilverArts — a wonderful reminder that staying active, engaged, and connected has no age limit. WNCSource is proud to support programs like Senior Games that encourage health, creativity, and community among older adults.

At WNCSource, we’re committed to helping older adults across Transylvania County maintain their health, independence, and quality of life through:

🚗 Home-delivered meals for rural homebound seniors
🥤 Liquid nutrition support
🧴 Personal hygiene products for older adults in need

WNCSource Head Start, Early Head Start, and NC PreK had a very special visitor today at our King Creek Children's Center. Kye Laughter, Regional Director for Senator Ted Budd stopped by to see the Head Start, Early Head Start and NC Pre-K classrooms where kids are preparing for kindergarten and future learning success! We had a great visit and invite him to come back soon!

It's Strive to Not Drive week! Meet the Apple Country Public Transit bus on Saturday and see where it can take you! WNCSource also offers free rides to medical appointments, grocery shopping and personal errands, and more destinations in Henderson County for seniors, disabled, rural, and other residents who are lacking transportation. It's a beautiful night for Asheville Tourist baseball and one of the great perks of working for a company like WNCSource! We are family! After a hard day of giving kids a Head Start on learning, providing Community Transportation, affordable housing and Older Adults Services, we get together for fun activities. at WNCSource!
