A ditch fire spread to the nearby HDPE culvert, compromising the road.

Storms moving east at 40 mph

WHAT TO EXPECT
Wind gusts up to 60 mph
Penny size hail up to 0.75 inch
Heavy rain and rapidly changing conditions

SUMMARY
A line of severe thunderstorms is moving through Putnam County right now. These storms are capable of producing damaging winds and minor hail as they track east across the area.

WHAT THIS MEANS
This is an active warning, not a watch. Conditions are currently hazardous and can worsen quickly as the storm moves through. Wind is the primary threat and can cause damage even without large hail or tornadoes.

WHAT YOU SHOULD DO NOW
Move indoors immediately
Go to an interior room on the lowest floor
Stay away from windows
Avoid travel if possible until the storm passes
Secure loose outdoor items if you can do so safely

REMEMBER
Severe thunderstorms can produce damage quickly. Stay alert and continue to monitor for additional warnings as storms move through the area.

There is a marginal to slight (level 1/2 out of 5) risk for severe storms late this afternoon/evening. Low level moisture is limited, so storm initiation may not occur until 4-6 PM. The primary risks are damaging winds and hail late this afternoon and evening.
