We’ve got summer-like weather expected this weekend and many of you may want to cool off in the water. That said, make sure you “Splash Smart Henrico!”

While our water safety event is set for July 18 at the Eastern Rec. Center (henrico.gov/calendar/splash-smart-henrico-july-water-safety-event) please make sure you’re following the safety tips below – especially when it comes to toddlers:

• Provide close/constant attention to children.
• Teach your child to wait for your “ok” before getting in the water.
• Stay within an arm’s reach of any weak/inexperienced swimmers.
• Have young children wear approved life jackets in and around the water!
