Happy National Volunteer Week!! We are so grateful to each and every one of our wonderful volunteers.

April 19-25 is National Volunteer Week! In 2025, RHHD had the support of 3,123 Medical Reserve Corps volunteers. In just one week, 64 of these volunteers supported Winter Storm Blair and the Richmond Water Crisis, contributing 223 hours to shelters, call centers, and water distribution sites. Our volunteers are invaluable. This week especially, make sure to thank the volunteers around you. If you are a volunteer, we honor and celebrate you this week and every week!

A state initiative will provide emergency food assistance in November while benefits through the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) are disrupted due to the federal government shutdown.

🍅In this time of uncertainty, Henrico is collaborating with neighboring localities and Feed More, central Virginia’s nonprofit food bank, to ensure that all residents' nutritional needs are met.

Thank you to Debbie and Kathleen for helping to provide first aid at the Florence Neal Cooper Smith 5k walk/run at Dorey Park! The walk benefited the Florence Neal Cooper Smith Sickle Cell research professorship to help find a cure for Sickle Cell.
