Troop122

Troop122 Raising up Godly men using BSA curriculum. Badden Powell noted there are three relationships every man needs to maintain.

The one between man and God, man to man, and man and nature. These three relationships are up to the individual to maintain. Our Leadership is committed to seeing these values passed on to our sons. Maintain an individual relationship with God through Jesus Christ; maintain relationships with others encouraging them to do the same; and continue steward our charge, the Earth.

Saturday and Sunday was our yearly trip to Swain Resort. Together, Troop 122 and 2122 had a great time skiing and riding.

Saturday the weather was warm (it hit 70 degrees) and sunny for a good part of the day. New skiers and riders took beginner lessons while the others got their "ski legs" under them after a year off. In the late afternoon, rain moved in ... and it poured! Luckily, we were forewarned and returned to our condo for dinner, games, ice cream and social time.

Sunday started out much cooler, in the 40s, but turned into a very nice day with lots more skiing and riding. at 1:00pm we called it quits and headed for home, with a stop at McDonald's for lunch on the way. We are all looking forward to doing this again next season!

The huge snowstorm that created havoc throughout the Northeast also limited access to many Fire Hydrants. As a Service Project, Troop 122 cleared access to ~15 hydrants near our meeting place, Harvest Bible Fellowship. It was a fun part of our weekly meeting, and helped our community recover.

Tonight we celebrated 137 Eagle Scouts at the 2025 Eagle Scout Mentor Dinner for Seneca Waterways Council. Three of those scouts were from Troop 122: Solomon Buchiere, Joey Capps, and Jedrek Kashorek. We are all soo proud of the accomplishments these young men have achieved.

A special recognition came to Joey Capps tonight. We already knew that Joey was chosen for the Eagle Scout Project of the Month for February. Tonight we were surprised to learn the Joey's project was selected as the 2025 Eagle Scout Project of the Year for Seneca Waterways Council! Congratulations Joey!

September 19th - 21st, 2025, Troops 122 & 2122 had an unforgettable weekend at the Fort George National Historic Site! With 21 Scouts, Scouters, and 3 little ones in tow, we stepped back into the War of 1812 era and experienced history like never before.

From military drills, skirmishes with Canadian Scouts, living history encampments, and marching in a parade into historic Niagara-on-the-Lake alongside hundreds of Canadian Scouts, our Scouts and Scouters learned, served, and bonded in a truly unique way.

🌞 The weather was amazing, the fellowship was strong, and the memories will last a lifetime. A huge thanks to everyone who made this event possible—our troops came home tired, happy, and full of stories to share!
