Thanks to Mrs. Sherry Walker for sharing photos from her 4th grade classroom. Her students have been learning about animals, so they made an animal cell representation out of food elements. Mrs. Walker explained that they used a cookie as the cell, icing on top to represent the cytoplasm, and different types of candy to show the organelles. She called it, “Edible Science.” We say it looks like a delicious way to learn!

Student Shoutout to Ms. Shay Cantrell at Henryetta Elementary. Shay changed out the seasonal decor, all by herself, at the front entrance of her school building. We sure hope her efforts to welcome fall bring that cooler weather soon! Her principal, Mr. Kennemer, said that she even put away all the summer decorations for next year. Great job, Shay!! We are proud of you.

We have received wonderful feedback from our staff and Knight families on the new HES “Knights Rising” monthly awards assembly.

HES Assistant Principal, Mrs. Taylor Johnson, said “Our Knights Rising Assemblies give us an opportunity to come together as a school and celebrate the amazing things happening throughout our building. We want our Little Knights to know that when they work hard, make good choices, help others, and live out what it means to be a Knight, we notice!”

Happy Birthday to all of the August birthday kiddos. Congratulations to our August honored students who received Student of the Month, Noble Knight, and Golden Knight class awards! We are so proud of you!! Keep up the good work and making good choices.

Job well done, Mrs. Johnson, Dr. Tracey Goff and Mr. Kennemer for all your effort on this new addition and a very successful first run!

After a week of sharing with our students about the legacy of HPS beloved, Coach John Walker, it was an honor for our Knights to accept the Walker Cup Trophy once again from Coach’s son, Cody Walker, and his family.

Thank you to Cody and the Walker Family for joining us and helping us do our part to keep alive the memory of a most impactful and respected former Henryetta alumnus, educator and coach. 🖤💛
