📚🌲 We’re Blazing New Trails Through Reading at DCE! 🌲📚

Our Trailblazers are building strong reading habits with Accelerated Reader and Beanstack!

Students will:

📖 Read and complete AR quizzes
⏱️ Log their reading time in Beanstack
🏕️ Reach grade-level reading milestones
⭐ Earn stickers to add to their reading brag tags
🎉 Work toward recognition, fun prizes, and opportunities to earn Book Vending Machine coins

Our first Beanstack challenge is underway! Students are working to log 400 minutes of reading between September 1 and September 30. Just 20 minutes of reading each day will put them well on their way!

Families can help by encouraging students to read regularly, log their minutes, and take an AR quiz after completing a book with an available quiz.

Every minute matters, and every book can take our Trailblazers somewhere new! 🦌💚💛

📢 Volunteer Training Reminder! 📢

Do you plan to volunteer at our school or attend a field trip this school year? If so, you must complete the required volunteer training before participating.

Please join us for one of our Volunteer Training Sessions:

🗓 Thursday, September 3
🕧 12:30 PM
OR
🕒 3:00 PM

✅ Before attending the volunteer training session, you must complete the Mandated Reporter Training.

🎓 Print your completion certificate and bring it with you. Your certificate will serve as your ticket in the door for the volunteer training session.

• State ID

⚠️ Military IDs cannot be accepted for copying.

📚💚 Celebrating Our Summer Reading Trailblazers! 💛🦌

Reading adventures don’t stop when summer begins! ☀️📖 Throughout the summer, our Trailblazers enjoyed books, discovered new stories, and logged their reading minutes in Beanstack as part of our Summer Reading Challenge.

This morning, we had the pleasure of celebrating their reading accomplishments! 🏕️📚

💚 All students who participated were recognized with a special certificate.

⭐ Students who reached our 800-minute goal received a certificate celebrating completion of the challenge.

📚 Our TOP 4 readers earned a special coin to select a book from our Book Vending Machine!

🏆 Our TOP summer reader received an extra trip to the prize box and will also be honored with a special certificate from the Board Office!

We are so proud of these Trailblazers for making reading part of their summer and for sharing their reading journey with us. Every book, every page, and every minute spent reading helps build a lifelong love of books. 💚💛

📚 This is just the beginning! Throughout the year, our Trailblazers will have many more opportunities to discover great books, celebrate their reading accomplishments, and continue growing as readers.
