Beginning this week, the City of Hereford will begin renovation work on the Northwest Pump Station ground storage tank. The tank will be taken out of service for approximately four weeks while it is cleaned and recoated on the inside. This preventive maintenance is an important investment in maintaining the quality and reliability of our water system.
During this time, customers west of Kingwood Street may notice a temporary reduction in water pressure, particularly during periods of high water usage.
To help maintain adequate water pressure for homes, businesses, and emergency services, the City is asking residents in the affected area to voluntarily water lawns and landscapes between 1:00 a.m. and 5:00 a.m. throughout the next month. Shifting irrigation to these overnight hours will help reduce demand during peak usage times and minimize pressure fluctuations for everyone.
We appreciate your patience and cooperation as we complete these important improvements to our water infrastructure. This maintenance will help ensure our system continues to provide safe, reliable water service for years to come.
