Where does the Trolley Bridge NYS Historic Landmark application issue stand? Accessing funding through an historic landmark designation will help. Saturday 8/6/2022 marked 245 years when General Herkimer began his 40-mile march with his men. Oriskany Battlefield National Monument Campaign...where an injured Gen. Here's a thought: Re-name Marginal Road to Mohawk River Place including & through the section of Kings Rd south of the CSX RR. Changing the name to 'Mohawk River Place' will better reflect this area's relationship with the waterway and, perhaps, stimulate a rethinking of this location's future re-development. The Mohawk Valley Rotary Club officially opened the Roger J. Skinner Memorial Dog Park on August 14th at noon. The park is located on Mohawk River Place(formerly Marginal Road) in Herkimer, the public attended the dedication of the Skinner Dog Park.
The Skinner family said in a statement: “Roger’d be so honored and touched with the privilege of having his(Roger Skinner's) name on this dog park in Herkimer. This project was near and dear to Roger's heart for a very long time. Roger had a tear in his eye and a smile on his face as the dog park took shape.

Herkimer 9 is new owner of former H.M. Quackenbush property. The former H.M. Quackenbush property is now in the hands of the non-profit Herkimer 9 Foundation.
The Herkimer County Industrial Development Agency (IDA) approved the ex*****on of a 'quit claim deed' turning over the property on North Prospect Street in Herkimer to HMQ 1890 LLC, which plans to turn it into a STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Math) center, with a business incubator lab, and an entrepreneurial development center on the third floor.
Plans call for a STEAM center for youth on the first floor and one for adults on the second floor,. Herkimer 9 created HMQ 1890 LLC as the business entity to handle leasing and facilities management for the former HM Quackenbush property.
