Today on May 8th, the City of Hermann recognizes today as #508 day to recognize Officer Adam Sullentrup, DSN 508.

The citizens of Hermann and the Hermann Police Department will be forever grateful for your service and dedication to the community. On March 12th, 2023 you faced evil that night, but evil did not prevail. Your strength and courage are inspiring to us all and we are proud of all that you have accomplished and will continue to do in your life. We are all Adam Strong!

Today on May 3rd the City of Hermann and the Hermann Police Department remember Detective Sergeant Mason Griffith DSN # 503 who gave the ultimate sacrifice on March 12th, 2023.

Your fellow officers and the citizens of Hermann miss you and will never forget all that you meant for this community. You can never be replaced brother. You will be forever remembered Mason and all that you stood for.

We love you Mason.

The Herman Police Department extends it’s condolences to the City of New Florence and the New Florence Police Department in the passing of their Chief of Police Tyler Beasley. Chief Beasley was also a former officer with the New Haven Police Department.

On April 23, 2026, members of LANEG and the Hermann Police Department conducted a drug-related consent search of a residence in Hermann, Missouri. During the consent search, contact was made with one (1) white female and one (1) white male. As a result of the search, 12.7 grams of methamphetamine, and multiple glass smoking devices, which field-tested positive for methamphetamine, were located and seized.
The white female was taken into custody and transported to the Franklin County Adult Detention Facility and placed on a 24 hour hold pending warrant application.

I would like to thank the members of LANEG and officers with the Hermann Police Department during this investigation and ridding our community of these dangerous narcotics.

Today, the Hermann Police Department received official word from the Missouri Department of Public Safety that we have earned the Missouri Blue Shield designation for 2026. This honor recognizes Missouri communities that demonstrate their commitment to enhancing public safety, investing in and supporting law enforcement and our community.

The Missouri Blue Shield Program was created by Governor Mike Kehoe in January 2025 through executive Order 25-03. In 2025, 201 Missouri communities earned the Blue Shield designation, recognizing local governments’ significant efforts to reduce crime and foster law enforcement community partnerships to strengthen public safety. The opportunity to earn the Blue Shield designation for 2026 opened on February 4, 2026.

The Blue Shield program grant awards $50,000 for an agency to utilize for training and essential equipment needed by officers and does not increase the annual police budget each year.

I would like to thank Governor Mike Kehoe with creating the Missouri Blue Shield Program and his commitment to public safety in the State of Missouri.

Today we honor Officer Adam Sullentrup. Hermann Police Officer Adam Sullentrup was catastrophically injured in the line of duty on March 12, 2023; he was was shot while responding to a disturbance at a gas station, resulting in impaired cognitive function.

We honor Officer Adam Sullentrup and the sacrifices he made for our safety.

Today we honor and remember Det. Sgt. Mason Griffith. On March 12, 2023, Det. Sgt. Mason Griffith was shot and killed in the line of duty.

Det. Sgt. Griffith served with the Hermann Police Department for over 12 years and served part-time as Chief of the Rosebud Police Department and served as a Reserve Deputy Sheriff for the Gasconade County Sheriff's Office. He left behind his wife and two sons.

We will never forget the life and legacy of Det. Sgt. Mason Griffith.
