📚☀️ It’s almost time for Summer Reading! ☀️📚

Each year, more than 200 children and teens take part in our Summer Reading Program, and we couldn’t do it without the incredible support of our community. Your generosity helps us provide fun, exciting incentive prizes that keep kids reading all summer long!

What a great event! 🤩

📖💙 Pittsburgh's new literacy campaign, "Won't You Be a Reader?" kicks off on May 16 with a free Scholastic Book Fair at MuseumLab!

Starting at Noon, the first 500 families to arrive will be able to select any 3 books of their choosing from the Book Fair. Attendees can also explore interactive exhibits, site-specific artworks, and hands-on activities.

This program is made possible through the generous support of The Grable Foundation, and is presented in partnership with the Carnegie Library of Pittsburgh.

🚧 Construction Update! 🚧

We’re making great progress on the new library building 📚🏗️ The drywall taping is almost complete, and sanding will begin next week. The casework is finished and ready for installation, and the flooring and ceiling materials are also ready to go when the time comes.

Another big milestone — the permanent electric pole was installed today! ⚡ Stonework on the columns is set to begin next week as well 🪨

And if you can believe it… we are STILL waiting for the front door to arrive 🚪 and for the Highway Occupancy Permit to be approved! ⏳
