September is Hunger Action Month, and McGonigle Ambulance Service is proud to join the movement alongside the Mercer County Food Bank to help end hunger right here in our community.

🗓️ WHEN: Anytime throughout September
⏰ BEST TIME: Monday–Friday, 9 AM–4 PM
*** However, we are a 24/7 emergency service, so if those hours don’t work for you, don’t worry; someone is here around the clock!

Throughout September, we’ll be collecting donations with one BIG goal: Fill our donation bins… then fill them again… and again… until we can fill the back of an ambulance completely.

We’ve done it before, and we’re ready to do it again but we need your help!

📚 With children heading back to school, back-to-school and school pantry programs are a huge need right now. The Mercer County Food Bank works to make sure local children have access to the food they need.

Not sure what to donate? We’ve included a flyer with some of the MCFB’s most needed items to give you some ideas. But don’t overthink it; any donation is appreciated, and every item makes a HUGE difference.

Your donations help the Mercer County Food Bank provide food to our neighbors throughout the county, including children, families, veterans, seniors, and others facing food insecurity.

Whether you bring one item or a whole trunk full, every donation gets us one step closer to filling that ambulance and helping those fighting food insecurity.

Summer is winding down, but things are definitely not slowing down for Team McGonigle! 🚑🍂🧡

The Transfer Harvest Home Fair kicked off, and we had the best time participating in the parade and handing out candy! We kept the fun going with standby coverage for the truck pulls and demolition derbies, helping keep our community events covered in case of an emergency. And we’re back at it again tonight! Come enjoy a night at the fair!

Football season is officially here! We’ve been busy providing medical standby coverage for multiple schools, and over this weekend alone, our standby crews will be covering several!

Because being part of our community goes far beyond the ambulance, our Director, Patrick, had the honor of participating in Birdies for Peace yesterday, hosted by Prince of Peace Center. We’re always grateful for opportunities to get involved, support our community, and be part of the events and organizations that make it such a great place to call home.

Finally, our yearly Sharon Speedway standby season is also coming to an end soon, but there are still a few final races left before we close out another busy season at the track. We are excited to head to the track again tonight!

Our duty crews continue to hold it down while our team members step up to pick up extra standbys, events, and coverage throughout the season. We’re incredibly thankful for the people who continue to show up, pitch in, and represent McGonigle Ambulance Service in our communities. 🧡

What has McGonigle Ambulance Service been up to lately? 👀 🚑

Just because our Annual Community Day is over doesn’t mean we’ve slowed down! We’ve had an extra busy few weeks responding to emergency calls throughout our communities, but we’ve also had the privilege of getting out and about and being part of some pretty awesome events.

🚑 UPMC Horizon & Jameson Health Foundations 5k
We provided standby coverage for the 5K and loved being there to support everyone who came out to run, walk, and cheer each other on!

🎉 City Of Farrell, Pa 125th Farrell Festival
We joined in on the incredible Farrell Festival Parade and provided standby coverage throughout the weekend. This is always one of our favorite events of the year! The energy is infectious, and we’re always grateful to be part of it.

👟 Valley YMCA Healthy Kids Day
We brought a truck out for Healthy Kids Day and had such a great time hanging out with everyone and showing off what we do. We loved seeing everyone and are thankful for the invite!

🏁 Sharon Speedway
We’ve continued enjoying our nights at the Sharon Speedway races providing standby coverage… whenever Mother Nature decides to cooperate! 🌧️

🍋 McGonigle Mission Lemonade Stand
We’ve even managed to catch a couple of lemonade stands along the way between calls to keep the McGonigle Mission Lemonade Stand going strong before summer comes to an end.

🏈 🎡 And we’re just getting started! We have plenty more fun happening in the weeks ahead, and we can’t wait to share it with you. We’ve definitely been fighting the weather a lot this summer, but we’re keeping our fingers crossed for better weather as we finish out summer and head into fall!

Yesterday was an absolute blast and our hearts are so full today! A massive THANK YOU to everyone who came out to make our McGonigle Ambulance 2nd Annual Community Fun Day such a huge success! 🧡 🚑

Watching our community gather, laugh, and connect at our station made yesterday truly the best day of the year. We hope you made some great memories! Your support means more to us than you know. 🛒 Walmart Hermitage - N Hermitage Rd: A big thank you to Walmart for stepping up to donate a generous portion of the food for yesterday's event! We appreciate their support in helping us keep everyone fed and happy!

🌟 Card My Yard Boardman - OH: A HUGE shout-out to Card My Yard for graciously providing our incredible yard sign! It totally exceeded all of our expectations, and the people behind it are just as amazing. If you have ANY occasion coming up, you need to get one of their signs! 🦀 Mercer County Coronor: John Libonati aka Our Dunk Tank Champ! : A massive thank you to John for sitting in the tank all day and taking it like a total champ! His fun crab goggles were easily the highlight of the event. And best news of all… he’s already agreed to come back next year! 🤪

👣 SASQUATCH / Sasquatch: A very special thank you to Sasquatch for making a stop out to see us! Everyone was so excited to see him! Be sure to follow his page to see what he’s doing next and where his next adventure takes him!

🚁 STAT MedEvac: Always the biggest hit of the day! There’s nothing quite like seeing them land right here at the station. Thank you to the STAT crew for landing, giving everyone a chance to look around, and answering all of our community’s questions!

Not only will you have the chance to dunk Mercer County Coroner John Libonati, but this year’s tank features a viewing window so you can watch him make the full splash all the way to the bottom! 😂

The best part? Dunking John is completely FREE! If you’d like to make a donation while you’re there, our friends from the Mercer County Food Bank will be set up right beside the dunk tank accepting donations and sharing information about the amazing work they do in our community.
