Can you see yourself enjoying sharing eye health and safety education with pre-school students in a fun interactive way? Would you like to be part of a vision screening process that can help students be ready to learn and possibly identify vision issues that are best corrected early in life?

Keystone Blind Association is seeking a P/T Assistant Prevention of Blind Specialist in Hermitage, PA. to be part of all these wonderful experiences. The primary focus of this position is providing vision screenings and eye health and safety education to preschool children.

Candidate must be comfortable interacting with children of all ages. High School Diploma or GED, a valid driver's license & the ability to be insured to drive agency vehicles are a MUST. Ability to pass background clearances & certifications upon hire. Travel is REQUIRED throughout Mercer, Lawrence and Crawford Counties. Experience in health, education, social work, family studies or related field helpful. Proficient in Word and Excel. EOE/M/F/D/V.

This is NEW for KBA to participate…and we need your help. For donations during that week, we can receive MATCHING funds in general and also “giving challenges” money from the Foundation. We have set a goal of $8,000 for our transportation program, which faces rising gas prices, and vehicle costs.

This week is vision rehabilitation therapist week. We would like to recognize those professionals that empower individuals who are blind and visually impaired to strive safely, independently, and confidently in their homes, workplaces, educational settings, and community in general.

Vision Rehabilitation Therapists (VRT’s) are highly trained specialists who teach practical skills to remain as independent as possible after vision loss. This often happens through individualized assessment and instruction in all areas of daily living.
