Information to all Hickory County residents the Tornado Warning expired at 3:15 pm - no damage or injuries to any residents or residences in our County.

Updated information: We did have a barn damaged in Cross Timbers area from wind (not a tornado). Please drive carefully and watch for road debris and low water areas for possible water over the roadways.

January 9th is National Law Enforcement Appreciation Day! We are truly honored to serve this amazing County! All we ask today, is if you should see any Hickory County Deputies, Missouri Highway Patrol Troopers, Missouri State Park Rangers, Missouri Conservation Agents, or any other Law Enforcement Officer today, just say one simple word, "Thanks!" January 8, 2020 - The Humane Society of Missouri (HSMO) Animal Cruelty Task Force (ACT) was called to rescue 25 small breed dogs and one cat from a long-term hoarding situation in Hickory County, MO in which the owner had been deceased for more than one week.

Per Jessica Crampton, ACT Investigator, first on scene and Lead Investigator "We are grateful to the Hickory County Sheriff's Office for their prompt action in ensuring the surviving dogs could be rescued", said Crampton. "We are thankful we were contacted by the Sheriff's office and pleased we could assist in bringing closure to this awful situation."

Once the dogs have been fully treated, they will be available for adoption at the St Louis City Location. Anyone interested in adopting a pet can view the full roster of adoptable animals hsmo.org/adopt.

To report an animal who may be in danger or is suffering from neglect or abuse, call the Humane Society of Missouri's Animal Cruelty Hotline at (314)647-4400.

The Hickory County Sheriff's Office would like to Thank everyone who made monetary donations to help make this year's Shop with a Sheriff so successful, Again!

Special Thanks to Lucas Oil Speedway for letting us sell 50/50 tickets to help with the proceeds.

Because of everyone's generosity, we were able to help 96 kids fill their Christmas wish lists.
