Attention homeschool families: are you looking for enrichment activities? We are offering monthly STEM challenge kits free of charge.

How it works: Using the link below, sign up for the months you want to pick up a kit. Kits will be assembled and ready for pick up at the Hickory County Extension Office (22126 US Hwy 54 Hermitage) between the 10th and 15th of each month. Kits must be requested by the 5th of the month.

Hickory County 4-H history has been made. We have our first ever 4-H Civic Engagement Ambassador! This 4-H member has big goals for his remaining years of 4-H and we are so excited to be part of it. Congratulations, Matthew.

In June we held a week-long Homesteading Camp. Topics covered were gardening, sewing, food preservation, candle making, and soap making. This was a community program that was delivered to the youth free of charge.

Every year, Hickory County Extension provides hands-on educational programs that help local youth discover new interests, build life skills, and gain confidence at no cost to families. From STEM and agriculture to financial literacy, career exploration, healthy living, and more, these programs are made possible because of the generosity of our community.

As we plan for another year of school enrichment programs and community activities, we're looking for local businesses and individuals who want to invest in the future of Hickory County youth.

With a grant from the NRA - National R***e Association of America we were able to purchase equipment for youth to use during our shooting sports season. Without this grant, the growth of the program within the county wouldn't have been possible.
