We would like to congratulate Class 31, and especially Hailey, Jorja & Maddie on successfully completing their Vol Cert 1 class. All 3 of the young ladies are Seniors in High School and are currently enrolled in the CTC_East Fire Science class offered by DeSoto County Schools eNews & Desoto County Schools Workforce Development . These young ladies and their classmates gave up their Monday & Thursday evenings and multiple full days on Saturday, including a full day yesterday of skills check offs and fires to reach their goals, and are now ready to serve our communities.

**Maddie D. completed her day in Jackson at the Fire Academy, and was able make it home in time to enjoy her first Prom with Desoto Central High School.**

Congrats & Thank You to each of you.

September 11, 2001 – We Will Never Forget

Today, we pause to remember the tragic events of September 11, 2001, and honor the lives lost, including the brave first responders who made the ultimate sacrifice.

Moments like these remind us of the importance of standing united as Americans. Just as our nation came together in the days that followed, we must continue to support one another, uphold our communities, and honor the spirit of service.

We encourage everyone to carry forward the legacy of those who gave it all—through volunteering, participating in community service, supporting those who serve, and never forgetting the cost of freedom and resilience.

Together, we remain stronger. United, we endure.

Its with great Sadness we pass along that retired member Lt. Jeff Richmond has been called home to his Savior.

Jeff served with Love Fire Department from 2010 - 2019 where he was instrumental in the development and training of our Cadet’s in which many are actively serving in the fire service as career or volunteers.

Lt. Richmond served in many capacities with Love Fire Department and even remained in contact and continued to offer suggestions after his departure from the department.

Jeff was one of several members of Love Fire Department and Desoto County departments that participated and finished the Kansas City Memorial 110 Floor Stair Climb.

Unfortunately, shortly after Lt Richmond’s honorary climb he would begin battling a horrible disease. Captain Hunter Clayton & Safety Officer Uriel Lopez and several others were able to complete the stair climb in memory of those who made the ultimate sacrifice in Lt Richmond’s honor.

Lt Jeff Richmond will be missed. We asked that as we all celebrate and reserve this Christmas Holiday that you keep Jeff’s family and friends in your prayers.
