The Family Resource Center is looking for caring individuals who want to make a difference right here in our community.

We currently need volunteers to help with:
🥫 Food Pantry/Market Support
👕 Clothing Room Assistance
📦 Unloading the Food Truck
🔨 Handyman & Maintenance Projects
🎉 Fundraising & Special Events
📋 General Office and Program Support

Our volunteers are more than just helpers they are the heartbeat of our organization. Every family that visits our market to shop for the food their household needs, every parent who finds clothing for their children, and every person who receives encouragement and support is impacted by volunteers who give their time and talents.

Whether you can serve a few hours a month or a few hours a week, there is a place for you here. Together, we can continue helping families facing difficult seasons while building pathways toward long-term self-sufficiency.

Tonight, we are asking our community to help us support families with children who are living outdoors and facing unimaginable circumstances. We are currently in need of tents, bug spray, bug repellent bracelets, and flashlights to help keep families safe and protected.

One important thing to know Walmart currently has the best pricing on tents, which means monetary donations go even further. If you would like to help, you can donate online and simply put “TENTS” in the memo line, and we will purchase additional tents directly for families with children in need.

We also want to be honest we do not have all the answers. We are simply trying to help families in crisis the best we can with the resources we have. Unfortunately, we are not a shelter, and our community does not currently have a emergency homeless shelter available. But we refuse to look away when children are sleeping outside.

At the Family Resource Center, we believe in wrapping around families with real support and walking alongside them toward long-term stability. Thank you for helping us bring hope, dignity, and safety to children in our community.

Today our team had the honor of celebrating this beautiful family as they reached a huge milestone on their journey to homeownership. If you remember, the Family Resource Center came alongside this family by helping complete 100 sweat equity hours and providing $1,000 toward their closing costs.

One of the most encouraging parts of this journey has been watching this family surrounded by a true tribe of people cheering them on, supporting them, and walking beside them every step of the way. Sadly, that kind of support system is rare in many of the families we serve, which made today even more special to witness. It was a reminder that community, encouragement, and relationships truly matter.

We are so thankful for our partnership with Habitat for Humanity of the Nature Coast and the life changing work they do for families in our community. Homeownership creates stability, hope, and generational change and we are grateful to play a small part in helping families succeed.

Congratulations to the 6 families who got their keys today. Through our partnership, we were also able to help provide food and new toys for the children as they begin this exciting new chapter in their new homes.

A huge THANK YOU to the Citrus Hills Womens Club for their generous grant supporting the Family Resource Center Summer Camp Sponsorship Program for 2026!

Because of your support, working families in our community will receive help with one of the biggest challenges many parents face during the summer months childcare.

At the Family Resource Center, we understand that families are doing everything they can to stay afloat while balancing work, bills, and raising children. This sponsorship program helps alleviate some of that burden by making summer camp more accessible for children in our community.

⚠️ Limited funding is available
🎟️ Only 25 sponsorships are available for 2026

These sponsorships will be offered on a first-come, first-served basis. If your family could benefit from assistance, we encourage you to reach out soon for more information.

If you are a local business and would like to help sponsor a child to attend camp, we would love to partner with you! Your support can make a direct impact on a child and family right here in our community. Please reach out to us for more information on how you can help.

All applications will be on a first come first serve basis depending on eligibility. We only have 25 sponsorships available.

Another family we've helped through the mckinney vento program.

Thank you donors for supplying us with tents, sleeping bags and all the other essentials for the children living in the woods.

Unfortunately, we don’t have answers about a shelter but until then we are here to help as much as we can.
