Our Kindergarteners rolled up their sleeves to w**d the front garden beds, proving that hard work can be a lot of fun! While digging, our curious learners also made some tiny friends, spotting ants, worms, and spiders in the dirt. Way to go, green thumbs! 🐛✨

Our 6th graders took center stage as they participated in Reader’s Theatre! Instead of just reading a text silently, students used their voices, expressions, and dramatic pacing to bring characters and narratives to life right in the classroom.

Our Kindergarteners had the absolute best time welcoming some very special, four-legged visitors to school the other day! Students got up close and personal with a cow, a sheep, a chicken, and some friendly goats.

As they petted their new animal friends, our youngest learners practiced using descriptive sensory words like "soft," "warm," and "fuzzy" to talk about what they were experiencing. It was a wonderful, hands-on day of discovery and smiles!

Ms. Luecke’s 2nd grade class became paleontologists!🦖🦴 After reading “A Dinosaur Named Sue” in Benchmark Unit 7, students participated in a fossil excavation dig and discovered what it would be like to be this kind of scientist. Through hands-on exploration, careful digging, and scientific thinking, students learned how paleontologists uncover and study fossils to learn about dinosaurs and Earth’s history. What an exciting day of discovery and learning!

On the Friday before Spring Break, we gathered to celebrate our incredible students who earned a spot on the Honor Roll.

These students have shown what it means to be a great teammate, a kind friend, and a responsible member of the Coates community. We are so proud of the positive environment they help create every day in our hallways and classrooms.
