Today, we celebrate four very special members of our South Christian family as they begin their well-deserved retirement journeys. 💚

Mrs. Majors has spent years serving our students through speech services with patience, care, and dedication. Mrs. Cathy has welcomed generations of Dragons through the cafeteria with a smile and kindness that made every day brighter. Mr. Ronnie and Mrs. Darla have safely transported our students to and from school while building relationships and caring for our children like their own.

Each of you has left a lasting mark on South Christian Elementary, and your impact will continue to be felt for years to come. Thank you for the love, commitment, and countless ways you’ve supported our students, staff, and families.

Goodbye for now, SCE Dragons.

Another school year is in the books, and it’s hard to believe how fast it went. Thank you for the laughs, the hugs, the memories, and all the little moments that made this year so special.

To our students — we are so proud of you and all the ways you’ve grown this year. Watching you learn, make friends, overcome hard things, and just be kids has meant more than you know.

To our families and staff — thank you for loving and supporting our school so well. South Christian Elementary has always been more than just a school. It’s home.

We’ll miss the busy hallways, morning greetings, and seeing our Dragons every day, but we hope summer brings lots of rest, fun, and time with the people you love most.

And just like that… the SCE Talent Show took the stage! 🌟🎤🐉

Our Dragons showed off their confidence, creativity, and BIG talent today, and we could not be more proud. From the performances to the smiles and cheering crowd, it was such a fun day for our school family!

In STEM, our 3rd-5th grade students became habitat experts by first researching different animal habitats and creating informational slides about what they learned. Students explored Tinkercad to design and create 3D models for their habitats, which were brought to life using a 3D printer. After printing, students built detailed dioramas to represent their habitats and revised their slides to include their final projects and new learning. To finish the project, students confidently presented both their slides and habitat dioramas, sharing their creativity, research, and engineering skills with others.

We are proud to recognize Samantha Harsch as our Parent of the Month at South Christian Elementary!

From a parent’s perspective, Samantha describes South Christian as a small, welcoming school filled with caring teachers and staff who genuinely care about children and their well-being. She appreciates the supportive environment and the dedication shown toward helping students succeed both academically and personally.

At home, Samantha and her family prioritize routines that create balance and connection after a long school day. Whether it’s soccer practice, riding bikes, jumping on the trampoline, or spending time in the garden with their chickens and ducks, outside play is an important part of their evenings together. After dinner, their routine includes shower time, reading and/or homework, picking out clothes for the next morning, and getting everyone settled into bed. These consistent routines help create structure and prepare her children for success each day.

Each morning, Samantha encourages her children—and even the students on her bus—to have a great day and to always be kind to others. If there’s a test or challenge ahead, she reminds them:
“Try your best, but don’t stress.”
Her encouraging words help build confidence, positivity, and resilience before each school day begins.

We are thankful for parents like Samantha who partner with our school, support strong routines at home, and encourage kindness and confidence in children each day. 💚

You are the heart of our school and the reason our students grow, succeed, and feel loved every single day. The time, energy, patience, and care you pour into our children does not go unnoticed. You are the real MVPs of SCE, and we are so thankful for everything you do for our Dragons.
