Meet Pip — our permanent resident American mink 💦🦦
Today Pip got to enjoy one of his favorite forms of enrichment — swimming and hunting live minnows in his tub! Watching natural behaviors like diving, chasing, and catching prey is not only fascinating to see, but extremely important for the mental and physical well-being of captive wildlife.
American mink are incredible semi-aquatic predators built for the water. Their playful personalities and intelligence make enrichment activities like this essential for a happy, healthy life in sanctuary care.
Pip may never be able to return to the wild, but here at Nature’s Kingdom Conservation, we make sure our permanent residents still get the opportunity to express their natural instincts every day. ❤️

🦊 Nature’s Kingdom Conservation Needs Your Help 🦨
We are currently looking for denning boxes/shelters for our wildlife residents and education animals. These help provide warmth, security, and a safe place to rest while in our care. ❤️
The insulated outdoor kennels like the one pictured from chewy.com are exactly what we are hoping for.
We can also repurpose and modify: ✔️ Old coolers
✔️ Ice chests
✔️ Large plastic storage containers
Even used ones are perfectly okay! The cooler pictured is a great example of what we can turn into a wildlife den box.
If you have one collecting dust and would like to donate it to Nature’s Kingdom Conservation, please send me a PM. Every donation directly helps the animals stay comfortable and stress-free during rehabilitation and sanctuary care. 🐾
Thank you all for your continued support!

Nature’s Kingdom Conservation, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit since 2014, is taking the next big step toward wildlife education and conservation.

I am currently working toward obtaining a USDA Exhibitor License so I can bring some of our sanctuary animals directly into schools for educational programs. This would allow me to teach children about wildlife conservation, rehabilitation, and respect for native species through safe, hands-on learning experiences with animals such as foxes, skunks, and mink.

For those who may not know me, my name is Michelle Sobek. I have been a licensed wildlife rehabilitator since 2014, as well as a federally licensed bird rehabilitator. At Nature’s Kingdom, we care for orphaned, injured, and debilitated wildlife of all species. When cases become too critical or specialized, we are grateful to work alongside our wonderful friends at The ARK in Roscommon.

My long-term goal is to build a pavilion on our property where we can host educational wildlife programs for schools within a 100-mile radius and inspire future generations to care about conservation.

Obtaining a USDA license is an extremely difficult and detailed process, and I need public support. Right now, I am looking for help reviewing USDA compliance requirements and making sure every detail is accurate before submitting for this special license.

If you believe in wildlife conservation, education, and giving children the opportunity to learn about these incredible animals up close — who’s with me?

Please PM me if you would like to help support this mission.
