This is an important notification from Pennsylvania American Water. Our crews will begin routine flushing of the water distribution system in your area April 5th, 2021 through April 9th, 2021 to ensure that you continue to receive high-quality water service. Flushing also allows us to test and maintain fire hydrants. When crews are working in your area, you may notice reduced pressure or discolored water. If your water is discolored, run the cold water taps only, at the lowest level of the house for about 3 to 5 minutes until the water runs clear. If discolored water occurs please also refrain from doing laundry during that time. In keeping with American Water’s focus on safety for both customers and employees, please do not approach our crews while they work. For more information and to see a map of the affected area please go to Pennsylvaniaamwater.com or call 1.800.565.7292. We apologize for any inconvenience, and thank you for your patience and understanding while we undertake this necessary maintenance of the water system

This occurred in South Hanover Township off Grandview Road by the tball fields. Thank you for being observant.
Tonight about 7:50 this evening my husband, while walking the dog, witnessed what could have been a possible child abduction. A large , all white utility truck with the windows blocked out and no lights on the license plate was parked at the park across the street from where we live. The male had a large cell phone that was visible and he was recording a child that was alone riding his scooter at the park. Not knowing my husband was watching him until our dog barked and startled him. He then dropped his phone within the truck and sped off. In the meantime another vehicle spotted the child and slammed on the breaks and a concerned woman asked if he was alright and escorted him home. The white truck circled the block and sped off again when spotting the other vehicle. Please keep a look out and keep a close eye on your kiddos. The State Police are aware and are patrolling the area.

PennDot has opened the Grandview Rd/N. Hanover St bridge leading into Hummelstown Borough. Please use caution and plan your travels accordingly as this will be a very crowded roadway. Again a friendly reminder, please DO NOT move barricades still blocking flooded roadways. Barricades will be removed by the appropriate personnel once the area has been inspected and repairs made if needed.
