Thanks to the AACA Library, today we’re taking a look back at the fascinating history of antique electric automobiles. Featured here is the beautifully preserved 1909 Studebaker Electric Suburban Stanhope — a reminder that electric vehicles have been part of automotive innovation for well over a century.

Also on display at AACA National Headquarters is the eye-catching 1980 Comuta-Car. Its unique design and compact style make it a fun and memorable piece of automotive history.

We just cataloged and added over 80 parts catalogs and price parts lists for cars mostly from the early 1900s and teens. Many of these rare gems are illustrated, making them an invaluable resource for informed restorations.

The AACA Library Bookmobile (and its driver, Spencer) fulfilled their lifelong dreams during Spring Nationals in Charlotte, by taking a few turns on the speedway. With the wind in their fenders and the speedway open in front of them, Spencer got the truck up to about 35-40 mph, which reportedly felt like about 100 mph! From the slow roads of Central Pennsylvania, our little Bookmobile got a taste of life in the fast lane in Charlotte - what an experience!
