We are excited to announce Hannah Gulley as our new Livestock Agent for Perquimans, Chowan, Gates and Pasquotank Counties.
My name is Hannah Gulley, and I am from Norfolk, VA. I recently graduated from Virginia Tech with a degree in Animal and Poultry Sciences—Go Hokies! After graduating, I moved to Currituck with my four rescue cats and my dog to be closer to family.
I grew up riding horses and was a member of the Virginia Tech Western Equestrian Team. During college, I spent most of my time working at the Virginia Tech Equine Barn as a herd health intern and helping during our breeding and foaling seasons. During my senior year, I worked at a company called Qentoros, where I had the opportunity to learn more about equine therapeutics.
While most of my studies focused on equine science, I also wanted to learn more about the cattle industry. I began taking cattle production classes and quickly found a passion for cattle. During my time at Virginia Tech, I tried to soak up as much experience as I could and pushed myself outside of my comfort zone. I took a livestock evaluation class, learned how to judge livestock, and even showed a heifer in Virginia Tech’s Little International.
I look forward to serving Perquimans, Chowan, Gates, and Pasquotank counties and using my experiences and passion for agriculture to make a positive impact within the agricultural community.
