🎭 Progress in Action 🎭

A great morning at the Hertford State Theatre! The Theatre Foundation Board brought together representatives from Hertford Rotary, Ruritans, Town governance, the Business Alliance of Downtown Hertford, and Downtown Hertford to clean debris out of the Hertford State Theatre.

Just one part of the ongoing effort to restore this community treasure. Thank you to everyone who continues to support this important project! 💪

The Streetscape Project is officially underway!

This project is being funded in part by a grant from the NC Department of Commerce, helping support improvements to the area connecting the town dock and marina to the intersection of Grubb Street and Church Street.

Today, work started on the first phase of the project. For the next few weeks, crews will be working on three corners of the Grubb and Church intersection to add brick screening walls and begin updating walkways toward the marina. Please use caution in the area and be mindful of crews working near the roadway.

Exciting things are happening in downtown Hertford!

Last week, our Executive Director had the privilege of attending the Main Street Director’s Meeting on economic vitality in the beautiful town of Brevard.

We explored how strong community storytelling and downtown identity can drive economic growth, why partnerships matter, and how smart strategic planning and work plans help big hairy ideas become real downtown impact.

North Carolina Main Street Center support and training like this help equip the Downtown Hertford Board with the tools and strategies we need to strengthen our impact, drive our mission forward, and help keep downtown Hertford a thriving community center.
