Discovering a child has experienced abuse is difficult to hear. ๐Ÿ’”

As caring adults, we find ourselves going into "fix -it" mode. It's imperative that you offer the child love and comfort!

It's crucial not to interrogate! Leave that for the trained professionals!

Forensic Interviews by trained professionals are designed to eliminate repeated questioning which can cause further trauma and possibly damage the abuse investigation.

Kids First, Inc. Child Advocacy Center is your resource to finding your child help and helping you navigate the process towards healing! ๐Ÿ’•

๐Ÿค Secrets vs Surprises ๐Ÿค

Teach your child the difference! We don't keep secrets from adults! Secrets can hurt people. Let your child know in your house there are no secrets, and if someone asks them to keep one they should tell you.

Surprises are fun! They're for birthdays, celebrations and making people happy! ๐ŸŽ‰

Help protect the child in your life by continuing to talk about the differences between secrets and surprises!
