City of Hesston, Kansas Welcome to the City of Hesston, truly is a wonderful place to live, work and play. Hesston is a city of the second class located in Harvey County, Kansas.

Hesston lies in south cenrtral Kansas just 27 miles north of Wichita on I-135. As of 2011 , the city population is 3,893. Hesston is home of Hesston College, which has approximately 450 students. Hesston has a municipally owned 18 hole golf course ranked "The Best Golf Value in Kansas at the Only 4-Star, Top 200 Municipal Golf Course in the State of Kansas". Hesston is home to two major industries: AGCO and Excel Manufacturing.

Hesston College has been issued a permit for the following activity.

Hesston College is conducting a pyrotechnics demonstration on Saturday, November 8 at 9:15 a.m. in the field just south of 325 S. College Ave. The demonstration will last less than five minutes, and you may hear loud noises during this time. You’re welcome to come out and watch this fun demonstration with us!
