Brasstown Bald is a protected site within the Chattahoochee–Oconee National Forest, managed as public land for everyone to experience and enjoy.

Recently, we’ve seen instances of vandalism at Brasstown Bald. These actions damage shared public spaces and take valuable time and resources away from preserving this special place.

Please remember:

The rhododendrons are blooming at Brasstown Bald!

Late spring and early summer bring one of the mountain’s most beautiful native displays as the trails and forest edges come alive with clusters of gorgeous blooms. These native rhododendrons are an important part of Southern Appalachian ecosystems, providing shelter for wildlife and helping support native pollinators throughout the season.

Peak blooms typically last about 2 to 4 weeks depending on elevation, temperature, and rainfall, so now is a great time to plan a visit. While you’re here, slow down, look closely, and appreciate the native beauty growing all around us in the North Georgia mountains!
