I just voted! 🗳️

I got to the polls early this morning and was the first in line when voting started at 7:00 a.m. It feels great to see people coming out to participate in our local election.

Every vote makes a difference — especially in local races like this one. Polls are open until 8:00 p.m., so please make sure your voice is heard today!

🖊️ Reminder: For the City Council seat “to fill a vacancy” — there’s no name listed on the ballot. Please fill in the circle and write in CJ Flynn in that spot

🚨 Election Day is Tomorrow! 🚨

Tomorrow is a very important day for Hiawatha — it’s Election Day, and I’m asking for your support!

I’m running as a write-in candidate to fill a vacancy on the Hiawatha City Council. There won’t be a name listed on the ballot for this seat, so here’s how you can help:

🗳️ In the section that says “To Fill a Vacancy on the City Council,” please fill in the oval and write “CJ Flynn.”

Every single vote truly matters in a small local election like this — your support could make the difference!

The Auditor’s office will meet Wednesday at 10:00 a.m. to review and count all write-in votes, and I should know the results by later that afternoon.

Thank you to everyone who’s supported me, spread the word, or plans to cast a vote — your voice makes a real impact in shaping our community’s future.

Let’s make it happen, Hiawatha! 💪

It was a joy to attend the ribbon cutting for the new splash pad at Tucker Park Tuesday! 🌊✂️

This was the first ribbon cutting I’ve attended since being appointed to the Hiawatha Parks and Recreation Board earlier this spring. It’s exciting to see continued investment in public spaces that bring joy to families and enhance the quality of life in our community.

Projects like this make me proud to serve and remind me why our parks matter so much. I look forward to supporting more improvements and making sure Hiawatha stays a great place to live, play, and grow. 🛝??

Just letting everyone know I lost by just 3 votes. Thank you all for your support. Maybe I'll run again at the next election. We'll just see how things play out.

"To secure a seat on the six-member council, Weigel defeated CJ Flynn by just 3 votes — receiving 145 votes, or 44.2 percent of ballots cast. Flynn received 43.3 percent of the vote, while Adam Kirkpatrick, trailed behind with 12.2 percent — 40 votes."

Jill Weigel wins by just three votes in a three-way race for an at-large seat on the Hiawatha City Council, according to unofficial special election results. She fills the vacancy created by Steve Dodson’s election as mayor.

I just got done voting Hope we have some good turn out and I win :)
