In a typical cannon, mortar, tank or small arms round, max velocity is found as it exits the tube. Not so with rockets.

That's why we like them.

Soldier Spotlight: Specialist Genesis Guzman Gonzalez

Bravo Battery, 2-130th FAR recognizes Specialist Genesis Guzman Gonzalez, a 92Y from Olathe, KS. Specialist Guzman is currently enrolled in the Dental Hygiene Program at Johnson County Community College and works as a dental assistant on the civilian side. In her free time, she enjoys reading.

SPC Guzman joined the Army National Guard for the flexibility it offers alongside her civilian career and school, while still allowing her to serve her state and country. She values the educational and professional development benefits the Guard provides and hopes to one day transition from the enlisted ranks to become an officer.

The unit recognizes SPC Guzman for her consistent support during drill weekends, particularly her assistance with inventory and her help to the Supply Sergeant. Bravo BTRY is excited to welcome her to the team and looks forward to her future success!

Soldier Spotlight:

SGT Christian Durbin Bravo Battery’s Soldier Spotlight is SGT Christian Durbin, a 13M from DeSoto, Kansas. When he’s not training with the Guard, you can usually find him out on a run, playing video games, riding his motorcycle, or on the pickleball court. He joined the National Guard to push himself mentally and physically, and says serving gives him a sense of purpose outside of his normal routine. SGT Durbin played an active role in the unit’s success this month by mentoring junior enlisted Soldiers through PMCS and driver’s training.

In his civilian life, SGT Durbin works in landscaping, laying sod and helping with projects for a gas line company. He’s committed to serving and continuing to grow professionally both in his Guard and civilian life. Whether it’s in uniform or at work back home, SGT Durbin stays busy, always finding new ways to challenge himself.

Bravo BTRY is excited to have him as part of the Bison team and looks forward to his future success!
