These hands-on drills are essential in preparing our future firefighters to respond effectively under high-stress conditions while prioritizing the safety of their team.

Last Wednesday, the Explorers conducted real-life fire response training exercises, integrating search and rescue techniques in low-visibility conditions with an added component of EMS skills following victim rescues.

This week, Explorers returned to our downtown training building to focus on rescue techniques in a smoke-filled environment and practice assisting a downed firefighter. A big thank you to BC Sikich for speaking on this topic and demonstrating various techniques.

Last evening Explorers had a unique opportunity to participate in specialized training in downtown buildings, receiving a comprehensive building construction class with Training Officer Woinarowicz, practicing salvage operations, overall training, and navigating a smoke-filled environment while utilizing a hose line.

Tonight Fire Explorers had the opportunity to receive instruction from Battalion Chief Sikich on building construction and fire behavior. Explorers gained knowledge of various building construction types and participated in hands-on fire behavior drills utilizing a hose line.
