Some moments are just too good to miss! 💦😂

At the North Palos School District 117 Back to School Bash, our Deputy Chief had the honor (and the perfect aim) of sending the Chief straight into the dunk tank!

A big thank you to School District 117 for hosting such a great event and to everyone who came out to kick off the school year with us. We always enjoy connecting with our community, sharing some laughs, and supporting our local schools.

What an incredible National Night Out! 💙❤️

A huge THANK YOU to everyone who came out and made this year’s National Night Out such a success! It was amazing to see so many families, neighbors, and friends enjoying an evening of fun while connecting with our local first responders and community organizations.

Because of your generosity, we are proud to share that we raised over $700 for the Dorn, Conrady, and Glen Oaks PTAs! 🎉 Your support will help provide valuable resources and opportunities for our local students.

⚠️ Severe Weather Update ⚠️

Our area has once again been impacted by severe weather. Roberts Park Fire Protection District crews are actively responding to calls for service and will continue working as quickly and safely as possible to assist those in need.

Please help us by keeping these safety reminders in mind:

• Never drive through flooded roadways. It only takes a small amount of moving water to sweep a vehicle away. Turn Around, Don’t Drown.
• Stay away from downed power lines. Always assume they are energized. Keep yourself, children, and pets away, and report them to 911 or your utility provider.
• If you lose power, use generators only outdoors and well away from windows and doors to prevent carbon monoxide poisoning.
• Check on your neighbors, especially older adults and anyone who may need extra assistance.

🚨 Please call 911 only if you are experiencing a true emergency. Limiting non-emergency calls helps keep dispatchers and emergency crews available for those with immediate life safety needs.

Thank you for your patience and understanding as our firefighters, paramedics, dispatchers, public works crews, utility workers, and our neighboring agencies continue working throughout the storm.

Please stay safe, stay weather aware, and avoid unnecessary travel until conditions improve.

The Hickory Hills Police Department is proud to recognize an outstanding member of our community for his selfless actions and quick thinking during an emergency.

Earlier today, a man became trapped beneath a vehicle when his leg was pinned underneath it. Without hesitation, this good citizen retrieved a vehicle jack and lifted the car as much as he could, helping relieve pressure on the man’s leg. As additional officers arrived on scene, they were able to physically lift the vehicle and free the injured man.

Our partners at Roberts Park Fire Protection District and North Palos Fire Protection District quickly arrived, provided medical care, and transported the man to a local hospital.

Acts of courage and compassion like this remind us that public safety is truly a community effort. We are incredibly grateful for this individual’s willingness to step forward during a critical moment and help someone in need.

As a token of our appreciation, Officer Martinez presented him with an Outstanding Community Challenge Coin in recognition of his exceptional actions.

Please join us in congratulating him and thanking him for making a difference in our community.
