As the Frontal Boundary to our N/NW continues to push toward the region, showers and thunderstorms will continue to increase in coverage during the overnight hours into your Friday Morning.
As of 852 PM ET...the heaviest precipitation was in association with an embedded line of thunderstorms that extends from the south of to the NE into the area. This line is producing dangerous cloud to ground lightning and will likely as well be accompanied by Gusty Winds.
Back across our viewing area, Doppler Radar was picking up on light precipitation extending from to the S/SE into the area. As of this time the weather station KHKY out at the Hickory Regional Airport was reporting light rain falling.
As the front creeps S/SE overnight tonight, rounds of heavy precipitation will be likely across our viewing area. Although our threat for severe weather is marginally low, the threat for Flooding/Flash Flooding around our area will be possible as we go into your Friday morning.
If you venture across any roadway that is covered with water, please turn around and find a different route. Passing over flooded roadways is not worth you life, just so you can save a few extra minutes.
