Well, today I completed filing for re-election as Graves County Constable for District 3. It has been an honor and a privilege to serve as Constable since January 2023. This year will be the fourth year of my four year term, and I look forward to four more years. Please vote to re-elect Charles Harp as Graves County Constable, District 3. Also spread the word and encourage your friends and neighbors to do likewise. Thank you so much for your support.

Today I went out checking road conditions and scouting for motorists who may be having trouble. Most of the roads I traveled were not as bad as they could have been, but there were still plenty of bad stretches. Conditions are certain to get worse as temperatures drop and the wet spots and slushy areas re-freeze. If you don’t have to be on the road, please don’t. Stay inside, stay safe, and stay warm. 👍

On this Veteran’s Day, let us remember that this country would not be what it is today without our veterans. A great big thank you to all who have served our nation and to the many, many, many of you who still have service in your blood.

Be careful with fire, everyone. It’s awfully dry out there, and fire can spread quickly. Today is the second time in less than a week that I have had to stop and fight grass fires along the side of the road. Today’s fire was in five patches within about 1/10 of a mile,along Hwy 45, north of Mayfield. A big thank you to the motorists who stopped to help put it out before the fire department arrived.

Well, about this time last night, my wife and I had been closely following the channel 6 weather reports tracking severe weather moving through our area, with a storm having potential for a tornado passing through the immediate area where our home is located. After the storm was past our home, I got in the car and drove to the two areas that appeared from the weather broadcast to be where the worst of the storms went through to look for signs of any safety risks or anyone needing help. The only significant thing was a downed tree or very large limb blocking the road between Mayfield and Fancy Farm. With some effort, I was able to drag it out of the road and off to the side. Thankfully there have been no reports of injuries or significant damage from the storms.
