Putting the Special.in Special.Operations this weekend in Western, NC as we completed two days of technical rescue upgrade training.
Rope Rescue Ops. Saturday provided a review of some of the new rope techniques and technology with some fall arrest and lead climbing techniques.
Sunday was nuttin but cuttin' and advanced stabilizing and movement techniques using controlled rolls, horizontal movement of vehicles wrapped around fixed objects, using ratchet rescue techniques by using ratchets as guys lines. Finished up with some grip hoist and new door and roof and flap removal combo techniques.

I am devastated at the loss of one of my former students Rescue Technician Bill Zimmerman of Haywood County Search & Rescue. Bill was truly an inspiration to so many others and his passion to serve others. He began his training with me during the 2018 Wilderness Weekend Exercise and put him on rope for the first time and he was instantly hooked after that class! His legacy will carry on as his organs have been donated to save another life!
