The Hickory Police Department was honored to participate in the Peace Officer Memorial Service on Friday, May 15, 2026.

During the ceremony, fallen members of law enforcement from Catawba County along with officers from across North Carolina who lost their lives in 2025 were remembered. HPD’s Honor Guard posted the Colors and rang a bell as each fallen officer’s name was read, including HPD’s own Jerald W. Maynor, who died in the line of duty on August 9, 1977.

The names of these fallen officers from Catawba County are etched in the Peace Officers Memorial at Catawba Memorial Park, where their service and sacrifice will be remembered for generations.

We extend our sincere gratitude to the Catawba County Fraternal Order of Police, Lodge 26, for organizing this event and honoring these heroes.
