Mountain View Fire Department The Mountain View Fire Department provides fire and medical protection to the citizens and visitors of the Mountain View community.

Mountain View Fire Department is a part paid and part volunteer fire department in the Foothills of North Carolina. We currently have two full time positions, those being the Chief and a Driver/Operator. We also have six part time Driver/Operators and 34 volunteers on the roster. We average 600 calls for service a year consisting of fire, rescue, and medical assistance.

As of 8:00 this morning, the burn ban that was issued for Catawba County by NC Forest Service and the Catawba County Fire Marshal's Office has been lifted.

While we have had some rain, we have not had a lot and it is still really dry. Please continue to use caution if burning outside. Also remember that you still need a burning permit for outside burning.

Mountain View Fire Department personnel met today with representatives from Catawba County Emergency Services and Catawba County Parks to review emergency responses at Bakers Mountain Park. This was an excellent training opportunity as it allowed us to find areas of the park that our UTV can access and areas of the park that are limited to foot access. This is a good example of working with our partnering agencies to better serve the citizens and visitors of the Mountain View Community.
