✨ Today, we had the honor and privilege of joining the Hidalgo County District Attorney for a special celebration in recognition of Elderly Awareness Month.

The event was filled with laughter, fellowship, and community spirit, as many local law enforcement agencies came together to volunteer their time, connect with our seniors, and even share a few dances on the dance floor. 💃🕺

We extend our heartfelt thanks to the Hidalgo County District Attorney’s Office, the City of Hidalgo, the Hidalgo Police Department, and everyone who helped make this event such a memorable and meaningful success.

Our seniors have contributed so much to our community, and events like these are a wonderful reminder of the importance of showing them the appreciation, respect, and care they deserve. 💙

We encourage residents to secure outdoor items, stay informed of local weather updates, and be prepared for changing weather conditions.

Our officers will continue to monitor conditions and respond to any weather-related emergencies as needed.

🚨⛺ Hidalgo is Hurricane Ready! ⛺🚨

Today, members of the Hidalgo Police Department and Fire Department conducted the setup and deployment of our new mobile DLX emergency tents. As hurricane season begins, it is important that our first responders are prepared to quickly establish emergency operations, sheltering areas, and support services when our community needs them most.

These mobile tents will enhance our ability to respond during hurricanes, severe weather events, and other emergencies, ensuring that critical resources can be delivered efficiently to our residents.

To the residents of Hidalgo: we are prepared and ready to deploy these tents whenever an emergency arises. Our police officers, firefighters, and emergency personnel continue to train and prepare so that we can provide the highest level of service and support to our community.

Thank you to LT. Ortega for applying for grants, his dedication to the police department and city of hidalgo sometimes goes unrecognized.

The Hidalgo Police Department proudly congratulates Chief Guillermo Figueroa on his appointment as the new Chief of Police for the Progreso Police Department.

A proud Rio Grande Valley native and former Chief of the Mathis Police Department, Chief Figueroa brings extensive law enforcement experience, proven leadership, and a strong commitment to serving the community. We are confident that his vision and dedication will have a positive impact on the City of Progreso and its residents.

Today, we joined fellow law enforcement leaders, elected officials, and community members in welcoming Chief Figueroa to his new role. During the ceremony, we reaffirmed our commitment to supporting Chief Figueroa and the Progreso Police Department as they continue their mission of protecting and serving the community.

Effective partnerships among law enforcement agencies are vital to enhancing public safety and strengthening the communities we serve. The Hidalgo Police Department looks forward to working alongside Chief Figueroa and his team to address regional challenges and promote a safer future for all.

The Hidalgo Police Department would like to extend our sincere gratitude to Hidalgo County Criminal District Attorney Toribio “Terry” Palacios for his support in helping us host a wonderful Bingo event for our senior community today.

Events like these provide an opportunity for our elderly residents to come together, enjoy fellowship, and strengthen the bonds that make our community so special. We are grateful for DA Palacios' partnership and commitment to serving the citizens of Hidalgo County.
