🐘🧪 Who says learning the Scientific Method has to be boring?!

Mrs. Eckard’s 7th Grade Science classes got to put their scientific skills to the TEST with a little ELEPHANT TOOTHPASTE! 🧪💥

Students worked through each step of the Scientific Method—making observations, asking questions, developing a hypothesis, conducting an experiment, collecting data, and drawing conclusions.

And yes… things got a little foamy! 😂🐘

What better way to learn science than to DO science?! Our scientists had a blast investigating, observing, and learning from their results!

🔬 Science isn’t just something you read about—it’s something you DO!

Falcon Families,

With the start of the new school year, testing is officially upon us. Students will participate in iReady testing this Thursday and Friday to help us best determine their academic needs moving forward.

To help us prepare, we need your assistance: please have students bring their Chromebook, charger, and headphones to school tomorrow.

These items will remain at school in their testing locations so everything is ready to go Thursday morning. Thank you so much for your support!

Lockdown Drill Complete:

East has successfully completed our scheduled lockdown drill this morning.

Safety drills are an important part of maintaining a safe and secure learning environment. They help our students and staff become familiar with established procedures and prepare us to respond calmly and appropriately should a real emergency ever occur.

Thank you for your continued partnership and support of our safety efforts. We are grateful to have families who understand the importance of practicing these procedures and helping us make safety a priority every day.

During Social Studies in Mrs. Elder’s class, students have been learning about the differences between historical schools and schools today. They have been answering questions and using Venn diagrams to compare and contrast the two. Today, they built their own models of what they think a historical school would look like using marshmallows and toothpicks. These colorful creations showcased a lot of imagination and teamwork!

East will be conducting a lockdown drill on Thursday, August 27th, during the morning hours.

This is a scheduled safety drill — there is no emergency or threat to our school community.

During the drill, students and staff will practice the Standard Response Protocol (SRP) Lockdown response: Locks, Lights, Out of Sight.

The safety and well-being of our students, staff, and school community are among our highest priorities. We are deeply committed to creating a safe, secure, and supportive learning environment where everyone can learn and work with confidence.

Regular safety drills are an important part of that commitment. They allow us to practice established procedures, strengthen our preparedness, and ensure that our staff and students know how to respond calmly and appropriately should a real emergency ever occur.
