After many months of hard work a bittersweet event happened today. Higginsville Central Dispatch has moved to their new building and will be operating independent from the police department. Central dispatch has upgraded 911 systems to an ESInet system. This system is more modern and provides better redundancy and next generation 911 capabilities including text to 911 service. It also provides better real time location data so that we can get you the help you need as quickly as possible. These are huge advancements to Lafayette county’s 911 center! We’d like to give a huge thank you the the Lafayette County Missouri Emergency Services board for their help with this project as well as the city of Higginsville Electric department for their help!

What this means for the police department is we will no longer have staff to operate our lobby 24 hours a day. Our lobby will be open during business hours thru the week. During the times we don’t have staff in the lobby, we will have an intercom which will call directly to dispatch and they will be able to dispatch an officer for you. As always the easiest way to get in touch with an officer is to call the 660-584-2104 number which still rings into dispatch 24 hours a day. In the event of an emergency please call 911.
