Many thanks to the Higginsville Rotary Club for supporting Girl Scout Troop 1306 in their Bronze Award project last spring with your generous donation. With the funds raised from Rotary and private donations the girls were able to help establish a large print and audio book section at both the Grandview and Middle/High school libraries. They visited before school started to see the results of the project- a total of 21 large print and 7 "play aways" (which contain everything needed to listen to the book except headphones). The Bronze Award is designed to build leadership and encourage community service, and we thank you for supporting our young women in their work on this.

Check it out!!! Higginsville shoes get picked up next week!

Attention Shoes Enthusiasts of District 6040 - Please take a look at this thank-you message from Dickson Masindano, the Executive Director of Buckner Kenya. We send shoes to Kenya every year that include D6040 collections, but this year our caravan (coming up next week!) is specifically highlighting Kenya. Heโ€™s thanking our District all for all of the shoes we have sent in the past, and for all of the shoes we will collect this year. Please note -there is a huge danger of jigger parasites for children in Kenya, so the shoes we collect this year will not only send children to school but they will also keep their feet clean, healthy, and free from jiggers. Let's make this shoe drive the best so far! ;
