The High Bridge Fire Department is located in the Northern part of Hunterdon County, NJ. We currently operate a Ladder Co., Squad Co., Engine Co., Marine Units, ATV and a Brush Unit. HBFD is the primary Fire and Rescue Service at Spruce Run State Park and the surrounding area. HBFD is also a member of the North Hunterdon Fire Alliance which consist of five municipalities working together to provi

de adequate response with a Squad Unit staffed with six firefighters from 6pm to 6am every Saturday. This is an original concept to this area by progressive minded first responders. Our units respond to fires, motor vehicle accidents, water rescue, hazmat, EMS assist, and whenever our community needs us. At HBFD we are constantly progressing in the fire service by adopting new technology in fire\rescue concepts. Our members train multiple nights a week on all the tasks we could be assigned to do. HBFD members are also municipal employees of HB,who perform Hydrant testing and maintenance. HBFD is very active in our community events as well as in our schools. Fire Prevention, History Lessons, and even as early introduction to activating the 911 system and CPR. Anyone 16 and over looking to contribute to their community should contact HBFD at 908-638-6383 or stop down to the station on Monday nights.

Last night, members of the High Bridge Fire Department participated in a vehicle extrication drill focused on strengthening the skills needed to safely and efficiently remove victims trapped following a motor vehicle crash.

For the first evolution, members simulated a vehicle rollover with entrapment, working together to stabilize the vehicle and successfully remove a trapped victim. Following the completion of the scenario, the vehicle was uprighted, allowing members to practice additional extrication techniques, including a complete roof removal and dash lift.

Vehicle extrication incidents can present complex and rapidly changing challenges. Regular hands-on training allows our members to practice proper stabilization, tool operation, patient access, and rescue techniques in a controlled environment so we are better prepared when these skills are needed during a real emergency.

We would also like to extend a huge thank you to the Dispenza family for generously donating their vehicle to the Fire Department for this training. Opportunities like this provide our members with invaluable hands on experience that simply cannot be replicated in the classroom.

In addition to donating the vehicle, the Dispenza family captured some great photos and video throughout the evening and put together this awesome slideshow highlighting the training.

Thank you again to the Dispenza family for supporting the training and continued preparedness of the High Bridge Fire Department!

Train today. Prepare for tomorrow.

Last night, just before 11:00 p.m., the High Bridge Fire Department was alerted on firebox 14-01 for a reported structure fire with possible extension to a nearby residence and a vehicle.

Chief 14 arrived on scene and established command, confirming a fully involved detached garage fire with involvement to one vehicle.

First arriving crews initiated fire attack operations on the detached garage, while additional crews secured a water supply to a nearby hydrant and also protected the nearby residence and checked the residence for any extension.

Crews operated on scene for approximately one hour before clearing the incident just after midnight.

We would like to thank all of our mutual aid partners for their assistance and support.

**UPDATE** Water service has been restored to the area at this time.

Due to a struck water line at the rear of the Middle School, the water main at the east end of Church Street had to be temporarily shut off until repairs can be made. High Bridge Borough DPW is on site working with the contractor to resolve this matter so service can be restored as soon as possible.
