"Together, we are stronger". A powerful message from Dr. Lenny Peters, the founder and chairman of the Lenny Peters Foundation.

Today, we are honored to receive a generous gift of $100,000 from Dr. Peters and the Lenny Peters Foundation, in support of ODM's operation and the upcoming 3rd annual Masquerade Gala & Auction.

The foundation’s contribution to Open Door Ministries will help support ODM’s 24/7, year-round operations and programs, including its food, shelter, housing, and emergency assistance services.

Dr. Peters shared: "This gift reflects something I believe deeply: a community is defined not by its most prosperous, but by how it cares for its most vulnerable. Open Door Ministries has been serving this community for many years. Ryan Ross and his team understand that meeting someone's immediate need is only the first step. Getting back on your feet takes time, and it takes people in your corner who won't hp anywhere. That is what Open Door Ministries offers, and they have been doing it with consistency and care long before most people were paying attention."

Say "Happy Work-iversary" to Chris! Shelter Manager Chris is a man with stories to tell and a light in him that makes the jokes he tells even better.

With us for the last 15 years, Chris celebrates today as his work anniversary. He started with Open Door Ministries as a resident, with many today saying "You were one of us." Now, Chris is proud to say, "Yes, I was. I changed my ways and put my energy in the right direction."

As Shelter Manager for the last 11 years, Chris truly loves his work and to connect with people. His loyalty shows through in moments when it counts, like volunteering to work at the shelter through 4 full DAYS of the last winter storm High Point faced.

Chris, thank you for your service and dedication to ODM and the residents you've seen in your 15 years!

Thanks to The Brewer's Kettle Kernersville's Andy and Michelle Kennedy and Dr. Gary Barger of Barger Chiropractic for coordinating a clothing and medical supply donation for us!

We received so many clothes for both men and women, which will be put into our Community Closet soon! We appreciate donations from our neighbors!

The Food Lion at the Palladium (Brain Jordan Pl) is a weekly donor location. This week, we wanted to make sure they knew we were so grateful for their partnership and dedication to donating food every week. Our guests and residents are able to have healthy meals with these contributions.

Thank you to everyone who donated through Food Lion or donates independently. Having the community's support makes helping our neighbors so much more fulfilling while keeping our supplies up.

The Blessing Box donated by the seniors and ambassadors of Girl Scout Troop 2817 is still standing strong at Arthur Cassell House. The bright imagery has yet to fade despite the late pop-up storms and the fierce sunshine.

With an early start to the new school year, High Point University Fred Wilson School of Pharmacy came out to ODM and helped around the whole building. It's always a great indicator that school is ramping up again and that we are still remembered by the students and staff.

The service doesn't stop for ACTH veteran Tyrell! He's beginning his GTCC EMS program this week with the help of Joey Gray and others from High Point Elks Lodge #1155. He was able to get his entire uniform!

If you'd like to help out veteran Supermen like Tyrell, reach out to Arthur Cassell Transitional House or the ODM main campus. We love the extra support for our veteran residents!
