MEET OUR DANCERS🪩 Swipe to meet each of our dancers 💙

Communities In Schools of High Point (CISHP) is excited to celebrate its 38th year in High Point schools by hosting our largest annual fundraiser. CISHP provides programs and services to students who attend six of High Point’s Title 1 schools. Title 1 is determined by the percentage of student who qualify for free and/or reduced lunch annually, a federal indicator of poverty.
As a nationally accredited dropout prevention program, CISHP is celebrating its 38th year with a strong history of addressing risk factors that, if ignored, ultimately lead to students dropping out of school. It is crucial that we help students realize the importance of a high school diploma as the foundation for future endeavors, but we cannot do it without community support.

The Communities In Schools (CIS) model is proven to connect students to the essential resources they need to show up to school every day prepared and ready to learn.

📚 Every Day Matters. Every Student Matters.

Attendance is about so much more than checking a box.

Every day a student walks through the school doors is another opportunity to learn, build confidence, create friendships, and connect with caring adults who believe in their future.

Sometimes showing up isn't easy. Transportation, housing, health, family responsibilities, or other challenges can stand in the way. That's why Communities In Schools works alongside students, families, and schools to remove barriers and ensure every young person has the support they need to succeed.

This Attendance Awareness Month, let's celebrate every step toward showing up, because every day in school opens the door to new possibilities.

💙 Together, we can help students be present today so they're prepared for tomorrow.

👇 Tell us:
Who was the caring adult who made you want to show up every day?

Ambassador Spotlight: Courtney Kiehl Lowe

As Executive Director of Communities In Schools of High Point, INC. and a Business High Point Ambassador, Courtney is passionate about making connections and helping our community thrive. 💜

“I love meeting new people and learning about the incredible businesses and organizations that make High Point such a special place.”

From Leadership High Point (Class of 2023 — best class ever! 😉) to The Interchange, networking events, and now the Ambassador program, Courtney has embraced every opportunity to connect, learn, and grow.

Her advice? Put yourself out there! Attend an event, meet someone new, and take advantage of the many opportunities High Point offers.

For a great lunch meeting, Courtney recommends two local favorites: Real Kitchen & Market and Alexandria’s Bistro 1605. 🍴

We’re excited to have Courtney as part of our Ambassador team! 👏

New school year, new possibilities - but for a student to make the most of it, they need someone in their corner from day one.

That's what Communities In Schools site coordinators do. They're in the building, showing up, noticing when a student is struggling, and helping them stay on track.

💡 Did you know that 1 in 4 U.S. students were chronically absent last year? That means they missed 10 percent or more of the school year—that's almost a full month of classes! And the impact is serious: students who miss too much school fall behind and are less likely to graduate.

Communities In Schools (CIS) offers a unique solution to combat chronic absenteeism. We place a trained, caring adult, known as a site coordinator, inside the school building who works daily to provide support and connection to the resources students need to show up to school prepared and ready to learn.

Visit our website to learn more about the role of our site coordinators: https://cisnational.org/425lpO3

Was there a caring adult who helped you get through school? Show your appreciation by thanking them in the comments 💙
