The goal of using Facebook by Guilford County Schools (GCS), all of the schools in the District, and teachers or sponsors associated with those schools, is to share important information with our public and engage in an open and respectful dialogue. Hello Southwest Guildford Middle School family! My name is Dr. Dante Webb and I am the new incoming chorus teacher! I am originally from Memphis, Tennessee where I received my Bachelor and Master degree from The University of Memphis in Choral Music Education. I earned a Doctor of Philosophy in Music Education - from The Florida State University. I have a 6 month old son who is the love of my life! 👋 Hello, Southwest Community!💚

My name is Lindsay Brake and I am excited to introduce myself as a new 7th grade ELA teacher at Southwest 🍎📚. I’ve spent the last 24 wonderful years as a teacher, literacy coach, and curriculum facilitator with Guilford County Schools, and I’m grateful for the opportunity to continue serving in a community I’m proud to call home.

When I’m not at school, I enjoy reading 📖, going to the beach 🏖️, and crafting ✂️, but most days you’ll find me driving my six amazing kids to all their activities 🚗💨—with my trusty friend, Google Calendar, keeping us all in the right place at the right time 📅😆. Our family lives in the community, and my children attend local schools, which makes this role especially meaningful to me 🏡❤️.

I’m looking forward to building relationships, supporting our students, and partnering with families 🤝✨. I’m thankful to serve where I live and can’t wait for a great year ahead!

Please welcome Mr. Pete Jackson-Woods to the ELA team!

Hello everyone! I am Mr. Woods, and it feels great to be back teaching our Cowboys and Cowgirls! Some of you may recognize me, while for others I may be a new face, but I am truly excited for the upcoming 2026–2027 school year.

Those who know me know that I love working with kids probably even more than I love Doritos! My goal is to provide every student with the skills, support, and encouragement they need to succeed both inside and outside of the classroom.

I am a graduate of Fayetteville State University and also a proud graduate of Guilford County’s very own The Academy at Smith. Originally, I am from the small town Southport, NC.

I look forward to building relationships, creating a positive classroom environment, and making this a fun and successful school year for everyone!

I am very excited to be a part of the Southwest community. For the past 23 years, I have worked with middle and high school students with disabilities, including students with mild to severe intellectual disabilities and autism. I am passionate about helping students grow academically, socially, and emotionally while building meaningful relationships with them and their families. Greetings! My name is Angela Smith and I am thrilled to be a part of the Cowboy family. This year will be my 23rd year teaching and I have the same excitement and passion as I did year one.
